Federal Compliance Committee Update
Last month, I established the Federal Compliance Response Committee (FCRC) to provide the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and me with updates and insights on emerging federal, state, SUNY, and other governing bodies’ compliance requirements, including presidential Executive Orders, that may impact existing College operations. The Committee is composed of colleagues who were already engaged in this work, bringing them together to maximize efficiency and our ability to react if needed. They are expected to proactively reach out to stakeholders across the College community to solicit input and expertise, ensuring an inclusive review process.
I am pleased to provide a brief update on their activities. The Committee has already convened several times and has begun to establish a robust framework for evaluating the potential impact of the executive orders on the College. This framework will be instrumental in guiding their updates to the ELT and me, and will be used to inform their first report to us. The Committee's mandate is to evaluate existing executive orders rather than speculate on potential future directives.
I deeply appreciate everyone's dedication to this initiative. I continue to be impressed and heartened by our College community's commitment to collaborative efforts for the benefit of all, in line with our values, and in the advancement of our mission.
