The MCC Banner project recently passed the midpoint of its three-year
implementation schedule. The Banner Finance module went live as planned
in September 2004 and the Banner HR module went live as scheduled on
January 1, 2005. MCC end users* now access the MCC Finance and HR
systems through Banner Self Service.
The Banner Advancement (Alumni/Development) module is in the final
stages of data conversion planning and development, and is scheduled to
Go-live in September 2005.
MCC's Banner Financial Aid module currently is under development.
Financial Aid will Go-live in March 2006 in preparation for Banner
Financial Aid packaging for the Summer 2006 semester.
The Banner Student module is under development and will be phased in
from October 2005 through 2006. Banner Recruiting and Admissions goes
live in October 2005 and Banner Housing is scheduled to Go-live in
January 2006. Registration and Accounts Receivable are scheduled to
Go-live in February 2006. MCC's new Course Audit program (CAPP) will be
implemented in Fall 2006.
Banner Self Service for Students, Faculty and Advisors is scheduled to
Go-live in March 2006. MCC's first student registration using the new
Banner system is scheduled for the Summer 2006 semester. End user
training for this phase of the Banner rollout will be announced by the
MCC Banner Student team in late 2005.
Approximately 200 MCC staff members have been involved with the Banner
project since its inception in 2003. I extend my personal thanks to all
of these individuals for their very good work.
Special kudos to the Banner team leaders and to the Banner Executive
team for their commitment to excellence.
