MCC's Homecoming Celebration is Underway!

MCC faculty, staff, students, alumni, retirees and friends are invited to participate. Join the MCC Foundation for one or more of the following Alumni Week and Homecoming events!

Homecoming Fall Festival and Address by Ken Nwadike, Jr., Wed., Oct. 4 - Ken Nwadike, Jr., founder of The Free Hugs Project, will be on campus for the annual Fall Festival from 12-2 pm in Parking Lot E and in the MCC Theatre at 7 pm. Tickets for the evening presentation are available at www.monroecctickets.com.

Spirit Day Faculty vs. Students Basketball Game, Fri., Oct. 6 - Wear black and gold and cheer on your favorite faculty members and our students as they go head to head in a basketball game on Monagan Court at noon. Come and cheer for your favorite player! Music provided by WMCC The Pulse. MCC students can enter to win an MCC hoodie, tickets to the Welcome Back Concert featuring PnB Rock and more!

Homecoming Day 5K/Tailgate Party/Tribunes Soccer/Artist Lecture, Sat., Oct. 7 - Our 5K Walk/Run for Scholarships continues to grow! Walk-ins are welcome! Check-in and registration opens at 9:30 am, the race starts at 11 am and the fun run starts at 11:10 am. Walk-in registration fee is $25. Special MCC student registration fee is $10. A total of $5,000 in MCC scholarships will be awarded to current MCC student participants at the conclusion of the race.

Following the race, enjoy a delicious Tailgate hot buffet lunch in the gym (tickets are $8); cheer on the MCC Tribunes as they face rivals in women's and men's soccer at 11 am and 1 pm. Take in the art exhibit and lecture by Monica Jane Frisell in the Mercer Gallery at 2 pm.

Glassworking and Blacksmith Classes, Fri., Oct. 13 and Sun. Oct. 15 - Attend a glass fusing, glass flameworking (Oct. 13 at 6 pm) or blacksmith class (Oct. 15 at 5 pm) at the Arc + Flame Center of Rochester. Special rate of $50 includes all materials. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity, register by Oct. 9!

Rochester Rhinos vs New York Bulls II Soccer Match, Sat. Oct. 14 - Premium seating discount tickets are available for $15 and $5 from each ticket sold will be directed to the MCC Foundation. Kickoff is at 6:05, at Capelli Sport Stadium, parking available onsite ($6). For tickets, call 585.454.3000 x127.

J.Crew Factory Fundraiser, Wed., Oct. 18 - Join us for sips, snacks and a little shopping during our J.Crew Factory fundraiser from 4-8 pm at Pittsford Plaza. A percentage of purchases made will benefit the MCC Foundation. MCC alumni, students and employees will enjoy 20 percent off purchases of $100 or more! For purchases under $100, show your MCC ID to receive 15 percent off your purchase.

Concert featuring PnB Rock, Fri., Oct. 20 - Doors open at 8 pm, Gymnasium, Stabins Physical Education Complex (Building 10), tickets available at www.monroecctickets.com with student ID (Park lot G) (sponsored by CAB with help from MCC's Men's Basketball Team)

Brunch and Crêpe-making Demonstration at Simply Crêpes, Sat., Oct. 21- Take a drive to beautiful downtown Canandaigua for a two-hour "CrepExperience" where you will learn the history of crêpes, watch a crêpe-making demonstration and enjoy a three-course brunch including: cider mimosa, oatmeal crème brulée, choice of bacon, egg and vegetable or Greek breakfast crêpe and petite cinnamon apple dessert crêpe. MCC Hospitality program students will be there to help prepare and serve your meal. The event starts at 11:30 am and tickets are $50 and include a $30 donation in support of scholarships at MCC. Invite a friend and register by Oct. 11!
