MORE Book Buddies Needed for All "If All of Rocheseter Read..." program
Writers and Books has announced that Servants of the Map by Andrea Barrett is the 2005 selection. Approximately 22 staff and faculty have volunteered to be a Book Buddy to my Introduction to Literature class that has 35 students enrolled. To make this a memorable reading experience for MCC students, I need 13 more faculty and staff volunteers to be a Book Buddy.

Just as a quick over view, my classes will not be reading the short story. They will, however, read all short stories thereafter over a span of approximately three weeks. All short stories can act as separate identities or can be interwoven as much larger story.

Once the dust settles on the enrollment and I have a Buddy for each of my students, I will e-mail my syllabus to everyone and will send packets with the Reader's Guide, buttons, and posters to all Book Buddies. Copies of Servants of the Map are available in the MCC Bookstore for sale.

A luncheon hosted by the Campus Activities Board will occur on Monday, March14 at noon in The Forum so Book Buddies can meet. MCC will host Andrea Barrett on Friday, March 18 at noon in Monroe A and B. Please mark your calendars. Don't hesitate to call (x 3303) or e-mail "mailto:epierce@monroecc.edu"epierce@monroecc.edu with any questions.
