Open Mic Celebration of Mother Language Day

Come listen to poetry and music by our multilingual MCC speakers! Do you speak more than one language? Sign up to sing or recite a poem in your mother language at our open mic.

Open mic will begin at about 11:45am after our scheduled performers. For more information about performing, email ESOL Program Coordinator Pamela Fornieri (pfornieri@monroecc.edu) or contact Katie Leite in the GEIS office (Bldg 11-211).  

International Mother Language Day is a celebration of linguistic and cultural diversity. UNESCO organized the first Mother Language Day celebration in 2000, and it is now observed every spring around the world. This event is co-sponsored by the Global Education & International Sevices office and the ESOL Program, World Languages Department.
