"What Were You Wearing?" Display from RESTORE

"What Were You Wearing?" is a sexual assault survivor art installation. The installation challenges rape myths and provides an opportunity for participants to understand that an act of sexual assault never has anything to do with what someone was wearing... or not wearing.

The outfits shown in the display were inspired by submissions by local college students about what they were wearing when they were assaulted.

RESTORE is displaying "What Were You Wearing?" at the Downtown Campus in the 2nd floor lounge April 29th - May 1st.

Contact Shelby Gallaro at sgallaro1@monroecc.edu with any questions.

Some individuals may find this display triggering and in light of this, Kathleen, an advocate from RESTORE will be on site and available 4/30 from 12:30 - 3:30pm. Information about resources will be on site. In addition, individuals have access to information and resources 24/7 via response.suny.edu 24/7, RESTORE's 24-hour hotline, and MCC Public Safety via the MCC Guardian app.
