Spring 2021 Intake Survey Results

The college-wide Intake Survey was administered to first time, transfer and returning students on January 11th. The purpose of the survey is to identify any barriers students may have and address them prior to the start of the semester. It also serves to promote connection to the college and improve persistence, retention and student success.

The survey was sent through Starfish to over 1100 students with a response rate of approximately 22%. Issues covered include basic needs such as housing, food insecurity and childcare as well as access to books and technology. Students who indicated needing help with at least one question received a phone call from a team of cross divisional responders who triaged their needs. The results of the survey are below:

246 students completed the survey

6.1%  indicated that they did not have a computer or WiFi access

69.1% indicated that they did not yet have the books they need for classes

1.6% indicated that they do not have safe/dependable housing

9.8% indicated that they have worried about getting enough food in the last 30 days

6.1% indicated needing childcare resources

24.4% indicated no concerns

186 students received a phone call follow-up

22.6% were successfully reached by phone

If you have any questions regarding the survey reach out to Kim DeLardge, Gary Johnson or John Kulak.  Thank you to everyone who assisted with making the Intake Survey a success.
