MCC Public Safety Sergeant Jose Roman promoted to Lieutenant.

The Public Safety Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Sergeant Jose Roman to the rank of Lieutenant.

Jose has over 17 years at MCC in the Public Safety Department, serving as a peace officer and then being promoted to Sergeant. Jose’s last assignment was on the Second platoon, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, where he primarily served as the watch supervisor at the Downtown Campus.  Jose is also the lead Defensive Tactics Instructor for the department and has received additional training in Crisis Intervention.  With this promotion, Jose will be the shift supervisor for the First platoon, from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am.

According to Stephen Wise, Chief of the Public Safety Department, “As a department that has an on-campus presence 24 hours a day/365 days a year, all of our shifts and people are essential; however, the First platoon functions while the College is primarily closed, where additional resources and people can be more difficult to come by than for the other shifts.  This adds an extra amount of responsibility for the first-shift supervisor.  I have no doubt that Lieutenant Roman is up to the challenge of leading the First platoon, and serving the MCC community.”

Congratulations, Lieutenant Roman!
