Save the Date: Third Annual Human Books Event on May 1

Our third annual MCC Human Books Event will take place on Wednesday, May 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the LeRoy V. Good Library on the Brighton campus.

This event utilizes an innovative and positive approach to challenge stereotypes and prejudices in a constructive and non-confrontational atmosphere of exploration and discovery. Members of the MCC and greater Rochester community who have a unique perspective to represent act as "Human Books," and MCC students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to borrow them for 30-minute conversations, either one-on-one or in small groups. The event is intended to encourage dialogue as a path toward developing intellectual curiosity, empathy, and empowerment through the exploration of new perspectives.

More information about this year's Human Books and how to reserve time with a Human Book will be available later in the semester. Faculty: If you would like to arrange to bring a class to the event or if you have any questions, please contact librarians Andrea Kingston (ext. 2313; or Alice Wilson (ext. 2304;
