For the March Supper, you are the guest speakers! Every one of you does something in your classes that is worth sharing. We will be sharing and collecting Great Ideas for Teaching (GIFTs).

How do you start class every day? How do you make sure that students understood the class? How do you check in with your students? Do you have an effective group work activity to share? Do you have an interesting way to get students to do homework or think about their mistakes on tests/labs/papers? How do you get students reengaged after a break? Do you have a "go-to" website for teaching ideas and resources?

Please bring an example or a brief description of your work to share with some colleagues. We'll be dividing into small groups for 3 sharing sessions.

We are organizing the share out in these categories:

  • Classroom management
  • Instructional strategies
  • Assessment strategies
  • Student interaction strategies
  • Other

You will walk away with a collection of new ideas that you can try next week!

Please see attached example of a GIFT.
