ADA MCC Give Kids A Smile Day Success!

A shout out to all students, faculty, and partners in the dental community who helped make the MCC Annual Give Kids A Smile Day a success.

On Saturday, March 15th, the MCC Dental Hygiene students treated 28 children from the community including 8 from our new partnership with Monroe County Family Services' Foster Care.

The students and dental practitioners provided complementary dental cleanings, x-rays, and exams. For several of the children, this was their first dental visit. Referrals were given for dental treatment and many are returning to the MCC Dental Clinic for dental sealants.

In preparation for the event, the MCC dental hygiene students completed Trauma Informed Care training with presenters from the Department of Human Services.
