Remote Library Instruction & Research Support for Fall 2020
Are you thinking about incorporating library instruction into your fall courses? The MCC Libraries offer a variety of synchronous and asynchronous instructional support options:
Synchronous
- 1:1 Research Help: Students can get research assistance from librarians online (by appointment) or via our 24/7 chat service.
- Online Library Instruction: If your class is meeting through Zoom, a librarian can facilitate a live session, featuring database demos, research strategies, opportunities for Q&A, etc.
Asynchronous
- LibGuides: These online research guides provide helpful resources and strategies for research. They can be tailored to a course or a research assignment.
- Librarian-Led Discussion Boards in Blackboard: Librarians can use discussion boards to answer research questions from students as well as share relevant resources and research tips.
- Online Tutorials: The College Researcher Digital Badging program is a set of online tutorials designed to help students learn college-level research skills. The Inquisitive Explorer badge is now available for use in your Blackboard courses.
To learn more, reach out to your department's liaison librarian or fill out our Online Library Instruction/Instructional Support Request Form.
