On July 11th Sean Soper was the featured speaker at the meeting of the Rochester Deaf Rotary. Soper, who had spent a year studying abroad as a Rotary exchange student, recognized the joint dedication of Rotary and AmeriCorps to service and initiated collaboration.
With the assistance of a sign language interpreter, an AmeriCorps alumnus, Soper provided members of the Rochester Deaf Rotary an overview of MCC’s Science & Technology Entry Program and highlighted ways in which the groups might interface in the future.
Soper received an award from the Rochester Deaf Rotary in recognition of his outstanding and continued dedication to service.
