The Week Ahead

DWIGHT Hat & Mitten Drive: 

  • Tuesday, November 12th to Wednesday November 20th 

DWIGHT is holding a hat and Mitten Drive. Please donate new items to benefit our MCC Community.  Drop off the items at the Office of Student Life, 3-126, or the Downtown Campus 3rd Floor Suite 310. These items will help benefit our student body. 

Adoption Awareness Panel Discussion:   

  • Tuesday, November 19th, 12:00 to 12:50 pm, Brighton Campus Forum (3-130) Panel Discussion 
  • Tuesday, November 19th, 5:00 to  7:30 pm, Brighton Campus Forum (3-130) Dinner with Panelists 

The Student Government Association invites you to join them in honoring and celebrating those in foster care, adoptees, those working for foster children, birth parents, and parents seeking to adopt. 

Global Fusion Festival: 

  • Wednesday, November 20th, 11:00 am to  2:00 pm, Brighton Campus Center Atrium 

Join Global Union, Campus Activities Board, and First Year Experience for a celebration of culture and diversity in honor of International Education Week. Cultural food and entertainment will be provided. 

Natural Tie-Dye Fundraiser: 

  • Tuesday, November 19th, 11:00 to 2:00 pm, Brighton Campus Brick Lounge 
  • Thursday, November 21st, 11:00 to 2:00 pm, Brighton Campus Terrace  

Please join the Biology Club, Sustainability Club and Pride Alliance for a club fundraiser where you can purchase naturally tie-dyed shirts! 

Gratitude Fest:

Please join Campus Activities Board for a day of giving thanks. Enjoy a delicious piece of pie and the opportunity to write messages of gratitude to your loved ones. 

GeoGuessr Live!: 

Do you have what it takes to find your location anywhere in the world? In GeoGuessr, that's exactly the goal. You are placed onto a road anywhere in the world and must use the clues around you to guess where you are in the world. The closer your guess, the higher your score! There will be prizes for the winners! for this fun event.

Tabletop & Esports Game Day: 

  • Wednesday, November 20th, 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Brighton Campus Brick Lounge (Area outside of Prism)  

Please join the Tabletop & Esports club for a day of gaming and fun. Stop by and join at any point through the afternoon. 

SWE + STEM Science of Thanksgiving :

Join Society of Women Engineers in learning the science behind Thanksgiving and make your own ice cream. 

"The Time That Remains” Film viewing & Discussion: 

  • Friday, November 22nd, 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Brighton Campus Center Forum (3-130) 

Join the Young Democratic Socialists of America for a viewing of "The Time That Remains", a film by Palestinian director Elia Suleiman! The film explores his family's history from 1948 onward, demonstrating conditions in Nazareth during the Nakba, the 60s and today. We will begin with a discussion with film professor Cole Seidl, who once taught film in the West Bank and is familiar with the works of Suleiman. It's an extremely exciting, interesting and even funny film - please join us!

  • Next weekend is opening weekend of the Theater Program's Fall Musical: Green Day’s American Idiot. Showings are Friday/Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm in the MCC Theater, Robin and Tim Wentworth Arts Building. Ticket pricing: $8 MCC Students, $10 MCC Community, $12 General Public
