This is the first of regular bi-weekly updates in the Tribune on the multi-year MCC Banner project. The goal of the Banner migration project is to replace MCC's current SCT PLUS information systems-Financial Records (FRS), Student Information (SIS), Human Resources (HRS) and Alumni Development (ADS)-with a web-based, 24/7, fully integrated relational database system.
The first module to "go live" will be Finance on September 1, 2004-see update below. The Banner areas that will touch end-users first include the purchasing and budget inquiry processes. Additional information on the MCC Banner project can be found at: https://web.monroecc.edu/MCCBanner.
PLUS Payroll Feed to Banner Finance
The Finance team, under the leadership of Chuck White, is pleased to announce that the first major test of our ability to feed data from the current PLUS payroll system to the new Banner finance system was a success. This interface is an absolute "must" in order to meet the Banner finance "go live" date of September 1, 2004. Chuck notes that "we will continue with our PLUS payroll system processing during September, October, November and December 2004, until the Banner HR system goes live on January 1, 2005."
Banner Finance Training for Staff Now Being Planned
Plans are underway to begin scheduling end-user training on the new Banner finance system. End-users will be given detailed instructions on completing and submitting purchase requisitions and on accessing and using budget and finance inquiry screens. More information on general and specific Banner training will follow in the coming weeks.
