Celebration of Learning Student Testimonial
Welcome back to the Spring semester! April 30th marks the 4th annual Celebration of Learning. Over the next few weeks, you will hear from three students as they encapsulate what the Celebration of Learning is all about.
We asked Angelo Romero about their experience. Let’s see what they say:
Angelo: "My first experience of celebration learning was opening up the event with my speech about overcoming my social anxiety, how I can share the story of my fears of public speaking, and how anyone can overcome their fears of sharing their story or projects with others. After I gave my speech, so many people from the audience said I did amazing and applauded me for getting out of my comfort zone. The main message was to get out of your comfort zone and share what you're passionate about.
My second experience was working with my fellow Model UN Team to have a small table to share our experience with Model UN and encourage students to apply for it, as it's an amazing experience.
It was amazing to see how supportive the library staff were throughout both events and how much they cared about students' presentations and allowed them to share them."
Event Details:
- Date & Time: Wednesday, April 30, 2025, 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
- Location: LeRoy V. Good Library, Brighton Campus
The Celebration of Learning encourages students to present their work in whatever format feels right to them, be it a poster, PowerPoint, artwork, essay, or prototype. This isn’t about competition; it’s about building confidence, sharing knowledge, and recognizing each student’s unique voice. The atmosphere is welcoming and accessible, making it a perfect way for students to experience the satisfaction of sharing their hard work with our community.
Applications are available now on the Scholar's Day webpage! This event is a wonderful opportunity for students to feel supported and celebrated in their academic journey.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
