Brighton TCC Spring Conversation: Student Perspectives

Through the Teaching and Creativity Center this year, we’ve explored the concept of growth mindset, which Carol Dweck recently described as “the belief that you can develop your abilities through hard work; good strategies; and input, help, and mentoring from others.” This mindset does not hinge on praise or effort only, but on the learning processes that underlie effort and persistence—especially in the face of challenges and setbacks.

For our May 1 conversation, we have invited a group of students with diverse educational experiences at MCC to share their perspectives.  Join us to hear their reflections on what sort of classroom environments, interactions, policies and grading practices helped them develop a growth mindset. Hear their stories about the impact of their mindset on their progress.
