Gold Star Gala - A Totally Tubular Success!
The Foundation hosted the 21st annual Gold Star Gala presented by M&T Bank from the MCCTV Studios at the Country Club of Rochester on Saturday, April 27. The event, a clever take on MTV in the 80s, was a great success thanks to the combined efforts of many generous supporters and our own MCC family.
Guests relived the 80s with big-shoulder pads, big hair and incredibly big hearts. Professor Marj Crum's imaginative student's created 80s artwork to set the tone while Heather Chung's performing arts students added to the fun with 80s impersonations. MCC's Facilities Department, led by Doug Ford, were on set turning the Country Club of Rochester into the totally tubular MCCTV Studios. The event's Scholarship Call was inspired by a touching video created by Daren Hammond and John Frontuto. The talents of MCC were on full display at the Gala and guests were duly impressed.
The Gold Star Gala raises important unrestricted funds for the operation of the Foundation, as well as, vital scholarship support for deserving students. Our sincere thanks go to all who helped to make the Gala a success!
