MCC Employees: Annual Mandatory Human Resources Training - Deadline is December 4, 2024:

  • It is the expectation of the College that all employees will fulfill the annual mandatory training requirements. 
  • Full completion is required for all employees – including full-time, part-time and adjuncts.

Monroe Community College values Community, Inclusiveness, Integrity, Excellence, Empowerment, and Stewardship.  As a college community, it is our collective responsibility to create and maintain a respectful and inclusive workplace culture, and to treat one another in a manner that reflects our shared MCC values.

Three (3) mandatory trainings listed below must be completed at time of hire and once per year thereafter.  Each training is bundled into one training course in Brightspace. The materials are prepared pursuant to New York State law, SUNY policy, and MCC policy.  It is the expectation of the College that all employees will fulfill their annual training requirements prior to the annual deadline: 

  • Sexual Harassment Response and Prevention Training
  • Workplace Violence Response and Prevention
  • Keeping Children Safe on Campus

This year's deadline is December 4, 2024.

Employees can fulfill annual training requirements by completing the training online via Brightspace. Please log into Brightspace using the instructions below to complete the required training.

  1. Log into the myMCC portal with your MCC credentials.
  2. Click on the Brightspace tile once you reach the myMCC portal.
  3. Navigate to the "Professional Development" tab under “My Courses.”
  4. Click on Mandatory HR Compliance Training.
  5. Complete the required training modules with an 80% or higher on each assessment.
  6. Brightspace will send out regular reminders to those who have not completed, or fully completed, all three trainings. 
  7. If you are having trouble accessing or using Brightspace, please contact the SUNY Online Help Desk at 1-844-673-6786.

Current MCC employees completed Title VI training a few weeks ago as part of a new SUNY compliance requirement.  We were pleased to report that 95% of our MCC employees completed Title VI training.  Great job and thank you all for completing in a timely manner.  If you did not complete this training in September, please complete it by the December deadline along with the other three trainings. As a friendly reminder, next year’s annual mandatory HR training will include Title VI training.  Recall Title VI prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance. Title VI training outlines how employees identify discrimination and how employees report violations.
