How to Support Students Post- Pandemic: IR's COVID-Era College-Wide Survey Results are Now Available
During intersession and early spring 2021, IR received multiple requests to create and administer student surveys. In order to avoid over-surveying them, I incorporated the smaller surveys into one larger survey. With the help of several employees, I also added questions that would help us: (1) understand students’ experiences during COVID, and (2) use a strengths-based, equity-driven approach to understand how MCC could emerge from the pandemic.
Starting next week, I will post the following sections from the COVID-Era College-Wide Survey Report in the Employee Tribune:
- What students need right now
- Why students enrolled at MCC
- Why some students have left while others stayed
- How the pandemic has changed students’ lives (generally, academically, and in terms of employment)
- Student services
- Preferred methods of communication
- “Belongingness” at and satisfaction with MCC
- Sub-reports for and about various MCC offices and groups
- MCC Schools
- Office of Student Life and Leadership Development
- Advising and transfer
- Student-Parents
- Implications and Recommendations
Thank you Andy Freeman, Rebecca Mack, Gary Johnson, Kimberley Collins, Jodi Oriel, and Matt Lawson for your contributions to the survey.
I am working on making the full report ADA compliant so it can be posted on the internal pages of the IR website. Until then, please contact me if you would like a copy of the full report.
