Reminder - FAO 104: FAFSA Special Conditions - Dependency Overrides, Change in Circumstances

The second Financial Aid Office Speaker Series event is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.

This month's topic will be FAFSA Special Conditions - Dependency Overrides, Change in Circumstances. There are unique situations where financial aid administrators may exercise discretion: when modifying data used to calculate the Student Aid Index (SAI), adjusting a student’s cost of attendance (COA), performing dependency overrides, resolving conflicting information, reporting cases of fraud, and determining a student to be an unaccompanied homeless youth. The consideration of special conditions for students and families who have already completed a FAFSA are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by MCC Financial Aid Office staff.
