While the use of Banner functionality to generate advisement keys (aka: alternate PINS) for students required to meet with an advisor prior to registration has been successful, our students’ ability to retain these numbers has not met with the same level of success. Previously students were required to enter their advisement key every time they wanted to make a change to their schedule. This became problematic for them, and us, when they no longer had that number. Thanks to the wizards and wizardresses in the Computing Department, we have come up with a solution. Once a student enters the advisement key to “unlock” the registration process and has an active registration for the term, the advisement key will be “automagically” removed and will not be required or requested for any subsequent student access for that term. However, advisement keys will continue to remain in tact for students matriculated in Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Health Information, Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Transitional Studies.
We hope you like this new enhancement.
