Tech Tip: Keep Apps on devices up to date

Regularly updating apps on your phone or other mobile device is a best practice for mobile devices.

  • Security - keeping apps updated helps protect your device from potential threats
  • Performance - updates often optimize app performance, fix bugs, and improve stability
  • New Features - updates can introduce feature enhancements
  • Compatibility - updates ensure apps remain compatible with latest operating system versions and other apps

To update your phone apps:

iPhone:

  1. open app store
  2. tap your profile icon (top right)
  3. scroll down to see pending updates/release notes
  4. Tap update next to an app or Update All to update all

Android:

  1. open play store
  2. tap your profile icon (top right)
  3. Select Mange apps and device
  4. Click see details to see pending updates/release notes
  5. Tap update next to an app or Update All to update all
