Welcome Back
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff –
"When we have the courage to walk into our story and own it, we get to write the ending." – Brené Brown, Author/Motivational Speaker
Welcome back to campus for the start of the spring semester, and congratulations to those who recently joined the Monroe Community College (MCC) family. We are pleased that you chose to make this extraordinary institution your home!
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and you are eager to dive into a new semester together.
The start of each new year brings a sense of anticipation as it provides us with growth opportunities, both individually and as an institution. We accomplished so much last semester, and I look forward to the coming months as we continue to catalyze bright futures for our community and its people.
We will break ground on the new Advanced Technology Center at the Brighton Campus this spring. The new facility will double our capacity to train students to meet workforce talent needs across our region, enhance our curriculum with state-of-the-art resources and innovative learning opportunities, prepare our graduates to excel in a competitive job market, and meet the demands of future industries. This outstanding modern facility helps MCC maintain our relevance by better equipping our students with the cutting-edge skills and knowledge required in today's evolving tech landscape.
We will also celebrate MCC's culture of academic excellence at the 17th Annual Scholars' Day event. The event, which highlights the scholarly work/research of MCC students, faculty, and staff, will be held on April 29th at the Brighton Campus.
In addition to academic pursuits, I encourage everyone to set aside time to explore creative outlets. Enjoy MCC's annual student art exhibit, spring play, vocal and instrumental concerts, winter and spring sports, and more.
Of course, we will close out our semester with Commencement on May 29th! The Board of Trustees and I look forward to celebrating your accomplishments and hearing more about the "doors" that your MCC education has opened.
Once again, I hope everyone has a fantastic semester. I am proud to lead such a strong and resilient institution in partnership with all of you. Thank you for making MCC a great place to learn and work as we catalyze bright futures—together!
I look forward to seeing you around campus!
