The Inauguration of MCC President Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna: Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2022

The inauguration of Dr. DeAnna R. Burt-Nanna as Monroe Community College’s sixth president will take place Thursday afternoon, September 22, 2022. Please plan to participate in and celebrate this moment in MCC history! The event coincides with the 60th anniversary of when MCC opened its doors for the first time to students at the Alexander Street Campus.

President Burt-Nanna’s Inauguration will offer us important opportunities to:

  • celebrate MCC history and reaffirm our mission.
  • showcase MCC’s impact on our students and leadership within higher education.
  • engage members of our community in the life of the college.
  • mark a new beginning and position MCC for the next 60 years.

Organizing an inauguration is history in the making, requiring a significant amount of creativity, enthusiasm and teamwork from many members of the MCC and SUNY family. Watch for upcoming MCC Daily Tribune articles for details on committee and volunteer opportunities.

President’s Inauguration Steering Committee is co-chaired by:

  • Dr. Calvin Gantt, Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Belonging and Executive Director, Downtown Campus
  • Dr. Nayda Pares-Kane, Chairperson, Anthropology, History, Political Science/Sociology and President, Faculty Senate
