The African American Affinity Group Addresses Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the College
The African American Affinity Group of Monroe Community College functions under the direction of the Chief Diversity Officer and is one of three Affinity Groups supported by the MCC Diversity Council. The African American Affinity Group (3AG) was formed to provide a platform for African American employees to promote diversity, equity and inclusion, to build a network to share common interests and academic scholarship. 3AG serves both the Brighton and Downtown campuses throughout the academic year via a number of initiatives including membership meetings, creating and implementing professional development seminars to engage all employees, and programming to build relationships with and be a support to African American students. Lastly, 3AG members promote collaboration, education and cultural competence at the College and in the Greater Rochester community.
