A talk today on the election of 1964

The 1964 Presidential election was one of great importance. Lyndon Johnson, just becoming President when J.F.K. was assassinated, is running to be elected on hs own. During his short time in office he has passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, created the Great Society program, but also taken the country on the path towards entering war in Vietnam.

His opponent was Barry Goldwater, Senator from Arizona. Goldwater was a force in creating the modern Conservative movement. Many of his ideas and followers worried some Americans.

 The fight between Liberalism & Conservatism as the answer to America's problems was on. 

While one side would win the election, many have asked which side won history.
