Congratulations Andrea Gilbert, MCC's Excellence in Professional Service Award Winner

Andrea Gilbert, Assistant Director Instructional Technologies, is this year’s winner and recipient of MCC’s Excellence in Professional Service Award. This is the highest service award granted by Monroe Community College. Its purpose is to honor the high achievement, leadership, and innovation of an individual in more of a non-teaching role who demonstrates achievements well beyond the job description.

One of Andrea's most notable attributes is her proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges. Andrea has been a pivotal leader in Instructional Technologies championing not only institutional or departmental initiatives, but also those that are brought to her from faculty. The conversion to Brightspace was an enormous undertaking with MCC taking a lead across SUNY - that would not have been possible without Andrea's dedication to the process.

Additionally, Andrea’s leadership and adaptability has been recognized by the larger SUNY community, resulting in invitations to participate in a number of SUNY LMs migration committees as well as the Directors of Online/Distance Learning Environments (DOODLE) group. Andrea is a model employee, both of MCC and SUNY, with a strong commitment to our MCC community, the success of students, and the support of faculty. It has been a joy to congratulate Andrea with this award, and we look forward to many more years of service!
