Vogt Quoted in Article on Female Leaders in Rochester

Dr. Alexis Vogt, endowed chair and associate professor of optical systems technology, talks about the gender gap in the male-dominated optics field for Rochester Beacon's article "How Anthony inspires young female leaders."

"A 2018 Pew Research Center report found that women over the last five decades have strengthened their position in the labor force and boosted their economic standing by making gains in labor force participation, wages and access to more lucrative occupations. At the same time, their progress on some fronts has stagnated, and large gender gaps persist at the top levels of leadership in government and business," the article read.
