Histological Technician Information Session

  • Wednesday, February 12th
  • Noon to 12:50
  • Join via Zoom (Passcode: 313090)

MCC has an exciting new partnership with Broome Community College providing the opportunity for students to earn a credential to become a histological technician.

Come to this Zoom webinar to learn more about the profession and how you can start a career as a histological technician. Webinar panelists include Vicki Roberts, URMC Associate Professor and Director of Education, Pathology & Lab Medicine, and Donna Burke, MCC liaison between Broome CC and locally interested students.

Histological professionals play a vital role in the well-being of others. They work in labs and directly impact patient diagnosis and care. As a histological technician, you’ll prepare tissue sections for physicians who specialize in pathology to diagnose diseases or other abnormalities, such as cancer. Employment opportunities can be found in hospital and private laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, research facilities, armed forces, and veterinary clinics.

You can complete general education requirements at MCC, if needed, to prepare for application to Broome’s competitive admission program. The histological courses through Broome are 100% online and you can complete the clinical requirement locally at the University of Rochester Medical Center labs.

This is an optional session, with no rsvp required. Both current & prospective MCC students, as well as faculty & staff who want to learn about this exciting new opportunity are welcome to attend.

Interested but unable to attend the webinar? Reach out to MCC Histotechnology (mcchisto@monroecc.edu) for more information.
