Hiring and Onboarding Deadlines before Holiday Break

As we approach the holiday break, there are a handful of hires with pending onboarding paperwork.  This includes all full-time, part-time and adjuncts new hires.

1. Any hire who is *tentatively* scheduled to start between January 2, 2025 and January 10, 2025 is required to fully complete all onboarding paperwork prior to December 16, 2024.

  • Start dates are tentative as they are pending the completion of the onboarding paperwork
  • Onboarding may take between 10 to 14 business days (on average) to process
  • Human Resources will notify the reporting supervisor and new hire once they are officially cleared to start in their new role at MCC   

2. If you have a candidate that your department needs to *tentatively* start working on or by January 2, 2025, their offer is required to be extended before the end of day, on December 13, 2024, due to the holiday break.

  • Important Note:  Even if an offer is made prior to end of day on December 13, 2024, the new hire is still required to complete the onboarding paperwork and Human Resources must receive the background check results prior to the holiday break, on December 23, 2024, in order for the new hire to be cleared to begin working on January 2, 2025.

If you are looking to expedite the process, you are encouraged to reach out to your pending hires, who have accepted offers, and encourage them to complete their onboarding paperwork within the noted deadlines.
