MCC Daily Tribune
Changes to Daily Tribune and Events Calendar Submission forms
Technonology Services has updated the text editor used in the Daily Tribune and Events Calendar forms. This update was made because our previous text editor was no longer supported and displayed an error. The new editor will have similar features and you will not experience much change in functionality. However, here are a few changes we want to highlight.
- The link window no longer has the option to select whether it is a URL or email link. If you create a link in the new text editor and enter an email address, you will be prompted with a message that reads: "The URL you entered seems to be an email address. Do you want to add the required mailto: prefix?". Click the Yes button in order to format the email link properly.
- There is a new button for Special Characters. This will be helpful if you are using a special character in your message and it will format to display correctly on the web page. (Note: the Article Title field does not allow special characters, so please remember to be careful what text is entered into the title.)
- There is a button to Clear Formatting. This can be used to remove any formatted text that displays incorrectly after being pasted from a program such as Microsoft Word. It is best practice for you to clear formatting and use the buttons in the editor to format your text as needed.
If you experience problems, please submit a Tech Request so that we can help resolve any issues.
