A Conversation with Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park Postponed

A Conversation with Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park, originally scheduled for Monday, November 16 at MCC has been cancelled. Hosted by the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project in partnership with Water for South Sudan (WFSS), the talk will be rescheduled during the spring semester. Ticket holders will be contacted via email.

An MCC alumnus, Salva is the founder and executive director of WFSS. Upon learning that Salva’s father in Africa was gravely ill, WFSS postponed his trip for November.  Linda Sue will still speak at TEDxBeaconStreet on her experiences as the author of The New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water. Her talk is entitled “Can a Children’s Book Save the World?”

A Long Walk to Water, a book about Salva’s experience as a Sudanese Lost Boy, has sold over 950,000 copies and is currently in the Common Core for seventh grade. It has been translated into 10 languages and has been on The New York Times bestseller list for 70 weeks.
