I want to give a huge thank you to the College Community for the many, many kind, thoughtful, and supportive sentiments expressed and lovely gifts presented to me as I leave our community for the next phase of my life---retirement. The dinners and lunches were delicious, the receptions wonderfully planned, and I especially appreciated meeting and talking with every one of you who attended the receptions. The fond hugs will long be remembered. Also, the large number of emails and cards I received from those who were unable to attend, will be treasured.
I hardly know where to begin about the fantastic gifts--- two (2) large New York Times Crossword Puzzle books (crosswords are a passion); Borders and Barnes and Noble gift certificates (reading is another passion), wine, (to celebrate and remember MCC), a very generous Macy gift certificate (I saw a handbag with my name on it), gift certificates for entertainment and dining out (already put to good use), a "tee shirt" (Yes, Charles and Mike, I'll wear it!), and many generous monetary gifts, and lovely, lovely cards. Words can't express how much your thoughts and comments mean to me; they are very reassuring and humbling.
One thing I know is, that even though I am retiring from the day-to-day business of the College, I'll never stop being a part of its community . I'll miss all of you.
Thank you all for the wonderful support and comfort in making my transition into retirement.
Your colleague and friend,
