Please join the MCC Foundation in congratulating and highlighting the achievements of Dawn Borgeest.  Dawn was nominated by MCC Foundation Director Diana Lauria, Manager of Planned Giving, United Way of Greater Rochester.

She joined United Way in August 2005, after serving as the president and chief executive officer of the Advertising Council of Rochester for 11 years.  The Advertising Council of Rochester provides more than $2 million in social marketing services annually.  Prior to the Ad Council, Dawn served as the vice president for marketing and resource development at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester for nearly eight years. Earlier in her career, she served as vice president of communications for the United Way of Greater Rochester.  She has taught marketing, business writing and public relations at the Rochester Institute of Technology and St. John Fisher College.  Dawn has lectured at local, regional, and national conferences. She has served on numerous boards; currently serving on the board of directors of Geva, including the Committee of Trustees and chair of the Strategic Planning Committee.

In 2006, Dawn was recognized with the Legacy Award, presented for exceptional commitment to the Advertising Council of Rochester.  She was named to the inaugural class of Rochester Business Journal's "Forty Under 40," in recognition of her professional achievements and community service and she has received the Matrix Award from Women In Communications, Inc./Rochester for outstanding achievement in the field of communications.  She was a 2008 Athena Award nominee.

After graduating from MCC with an associate degree in medical record technology, Dawn earned her bachelor of arts degree in communication management from St. John Fisher College.  Dawn remains involved with MCC by supporting special events and serving on the MCC Foundation’s Gold Star Gala committee.  She is an avid gardener and has two able assistants – her Havanese dogs, Bella and Livy.
