An Evening of Diversity & Empowerment w/ Sheryl Lee Ralph


Sheryl Lee Ralph, award-winning actress, activist and author, is the keynote speaker for “An Evening of Diversity & Empowerment." This evening event will intertwine themes associated with the University of Rochester's Fifth Annual Diversity Conference, "Crossroads: An Opportunity for Progress."

Sheryl is devoted to all aspects of personal and professional diversity and empowerment. She engages from perspectives of feminism, an awareness of LGBTQ concerns, multiculturalism as well as the many other ways that diversity impacts the community at large. She uses her life story to illustrate her vision.

The program will include an Award Presentation to the following organizations for Youth Empowerment: The In-Control Program, The Women’s Foundation of Genesee Valley, The S.T.A.R. program, The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Delta G.E.M.S. and Delta Academy Program and The Good Fellas Program. The Community Empowerment Award will be awarded to Trillium Health for their work around HIV/AIDS and overall Health Care.  Additional program participation: Mayor Lovely Warren, FuturPointe Dance and a special performance and a Community Diversity Documentary presentation from MJS Productions.

Tickets can be purchased at Damon City Campus Bookstore and Brighton Campus Center.
