New International Travel Guidelines

There are two new forms faculty and staff must submit in order to travel internationally as an MCC employee.  The purpose of these forms is to (a) standardize and ensure consistency in the approval process for international travel, and (b) ensure faculty or staff are aware of the risk factors involved when traveling internationally.  These forms were created by the office of Global Education and International Services and the Division of Administrative Services and were vetted and approved by the Vice Presidents in October 2015.  Both forms are for faculty and staff and do not pertain to students.  In addition, both forms must be completed and approved before employees can travel internationally as MCC employees.

The forms are as follows:

1) International Travel Guidelines:  This form standardizes the approval process for faculty or staff traveling internationally.  It must be signed by the employee’s Director/Dean, VP, and then will be submitted to the President with the Prior Approval Travel form and the Faculty and Staff Travel Release form for final approval.

2)  Faculty and Staff Travel Release:  This form is meant to alert the employee to the dangers associated with international travel, especially to those countries with a Department of State travel warning and/or a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention travel notice.  It is therefore also a liability release form and is submitted with the Prior Approval Travel form and the International Travel Guidelines approval form for the President’s final approval.

If you have any questions or wish to receive a copy of the forms, please contact Sherry Parks, Executive Secretary to the Vice President of Administrative Services <mailto:sparks@monroecc.edu> or call X2186.
