How do you start the discussion with a student who is facing personal concerns that affect academics? How do you counsel a student on whether or not to withdraw from the class? Have you ever experienced communication barriers while trying to advise students? Do students look to you for advice on an "easy" class or professor? These issues and more will be addressed at this professional development event focusing on advising challenges, cosponsored by the Liberal Arts Mentor Program and the Teaching & Creativity Center.
