Spring High School Counselor Workshops Hosted by MCC Admissions Office

The Admissions Office hosted over 100 high school counselors this spring for the annual High School Counselor Workshops.  The workshops were offered on four separate dates and were able to accommodate a broad group of school counselors from Monroe and the surrounding counties.  Tony Felicetti, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Academic Services, gave the Welcome; Andy Freeman, Director of Admissions, presented an Admissions and Enrollment Update; Val Avalone, Director of Planning, presented on New Facilities; Christine Casalinuovo-Adams, Assistant Director of Admissions, presented on High-Demand and Competitive Admission programs; and Admissions Counselors Clayton Jones and Andy Morris presented on the Importance of Math B.  Each high school counselor was given a tour of the Flynn Campus Center.

The students and staff of the Hospitality program presented a luncheon in Reflections restaurant where school counselors we able to witness a live demonstration of the students' culinary skills as they presented a flaming Bananas Foster dessert.  For a majority of the school counselors in attendance, this was their first time dining in our award-winning student-run restaurant and touring our campus.  A special thanks to Drew Lawrence and Diane Cheasty of the Hospitality Department for their commitment to this important event.
