Passing of Retiree Elaine Derrenbacher

I am sad to inform the college community of retiree Elaine Derrenbacher's recent passing.

Elaine began her MCC career in 1994 in the Psychology Department and retired in 2016. A member of the Anthropology/History/Political Science Department for many years, she was always very helpful to new professors--both full-time and adjunct--helping them get acquainted with the College and encouraging their involvement on campus.

In addition, Elaine was a wealth of information for faculty, staff and students. Her positive nature helped establish strong and positive professional relationships throughout MCC. A recipient of the Distinguished Support Staff Award in 2015, she was a valued and treasured member of the MCC family.

Predeceased by her parents, Roman and Stella Furstoss, she is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Donald; children, Donald (Corey) Jr., Michael, and Jennifer Derrenbacher; and many grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. More details and the opportunity to share memories are available on the New Comer Creations and Funerals web site.

Family will receive family & friends on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 9 am - 10 am followed by a service for family and close friends at 10 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, 601 Elmwood Ave. # 704, Rochester, NY 14642.
