East High Optics Program Visits MCC

On Thursday, April 21, 2016, MCC welcomed the East High Optics Program students to the Brighton Campus to see firsthand how Optics is rapidly changing and its importance in the Rochester area.  The students toured the Brighton Campus, had a lively discussion with current students and were able to experience the Optics Labs with hands-on demonstrations and activities.  The East High Students were also able to speak with current optics students to get a better understanding of the MCC program and the employment outlook.  The day also included a tour of the Optimax Systems Company in Rochester where students got to see coursework and skills in action.

This event was a joint collaboration of Paul Conrow (East High Optics Program), Alexis Vogt (Engineering Technology, Optics Program Coordinator at MCC), and Mary Ellen Gleason (ESOL/TRS, Project Director East College Readiness Grant).
