Take Back the Night--Rally and Candlelight March

Take Back the Night began in 1978 in Francisco as a symbolic effort by community members who wanted women to be able to walk through the streets at night without being afraid. It is now an international event held on college campuses worldwide.  Please join the Student Organization of Women Leaders (S.O.W.L) and other students, faculty, staff and community members in the MCC Empire Room at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27. We’ll commence with a presentation by S.O.W.L members, followed by speakers from the audience who would like to share their stories of survival, and then begin our candle-lit walk around the campus perimeter at dusk.

For more information, or if you would like to sign up to present, please contact Instructor Elizabeth Johnston at <<mailto:ejohnston@monroecc.edu>> or Instructor Pamela Emigh-Murphy at <<mailto:pemighmurphy@monroecc.edu>>.
