Alumni Weekend 2005: MCC Celebrates 40 Years of Soccer Excellence

Forty years ago, Monroe Community College’s men’s soccer team won the National Junior College Athletic Association championship – just three years after the college opened its doors. This year, that win along with the achievements of thousands of MCC men and women soccer players will be celebrated at MCC’s Alumni Weekend, Celebrating 40 Years of Men’s & Women’s Soccer Excellence, Oct. 7 and 8 at the college’s Brighton Campus, 1000 E. Henrietta Rd. The event is hosted by the Monroe Community College Foundation.

Reunion activities will include a golf outing, kick-off reception, tours of the Erie Canal and Casa Larga Vineyards and a gala dinner. On Saturday morning, MCC Tribune alumni will be among the first to play on MCC’s new synthetic turf field.

Alumni and Tribunes fans will also cheer on the current generation of MCC Tribunes as they face Wells College at home on Saturday afternoon. MCC’s women’s soccer team is the reigning national champion.
