Help Students Determine if they are a Dependent in Regards to Financial Aid
Dependency questions are used to determine, according to law, whether students are a dependent or an independent student for purposes of calculating the Expected Family Contribution EFC). The financial aid office uses the EFC as an index to estimate the student’s financial aid package. See the attachment to clarify a student's dependency status questions. Ramon L. Rodriguez
