Lisa Kurman is Retiring

After more than 32 years at MCC, Lisa Kurman is retiring.  Lisa is a Heavy Laborer who started with the Facilities department on the overnight shift at the Brighton Campus.  When she moved to the day shift, she continued her good service and good comradery with a new family and our campus community.  For the last eight years Lisa has been watching over the Downtown Campus as the sole day custodial staff and helping out with Special Events Overtime.  She’s become a fixture at our campuses helping out employees, students, and our guests.  Lisa has built relationships with so many at MCC that even if you didn’t know her name you can simply say “the person always cleaning up for you” and they know who you are talking about.

We hope you will join us on Thursday, July 25th from 12pm to 1pm in thanking Lisa for her many years of service at her retirement celebration, at the Facilities Offices Downtown 3rd floor (right across from the main elevators). Cake and light refreshments will be served.

If you would like to contribute toward a gift for Lisa, please send that by July 22, 2024 to one of the following:

  • Dana Smith, Building 21
  • John Haines, Building 3, or
  • Tim Brancato, Downtown Facilities 3rd Floor

Lisa’s dedication to MCC, above and beyond service to our customers, and her friendly interactions will be missed and she will be remembered fondly.  MCC is happy you are moving on to your next chapter but will is sad to see you leave.  We wish you well in all the adventures of your retirement!
