Seventy MCC Students Join National Organization in HVAC.

Over seventy Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) students have banded together under the leadership of Instructor Kevin French to create MCC’s Student Branch of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA).

ACCA is a nationwide organization dedicated to preserving professionalism and high quality craftsmanship in the HVAC industry.  The organization also provides opportunities for networking and professional development to its members.

The students have elected Keith Shaw as chapter president.  Mark Blonsky will head-up the chapter’s steering committees and Jack Ellis will handle finances.  The HVAC Advisory Board members have been instrumental in providing support to the students.  Hal Smith, president of Halco Heating and Cooling (and MCC graduate) has attended the student meetings and helped the students develop by-laws. Jim Isaac, (Isaac Heating and Air) is scheduled to speak to the students at their April meeting.

The ACCA students have been offered the opportunity to participate in an HVAC installation with the Carrier Corporation at a hospice house in Penfield.  The students anticipate many more opportunities to put their education to use and help the community through their learning.

Congratulations to Instructor Kevin French and the HVAC students!
