Please join Black Student Union at Damon City Campus (BSU @ DCC) for our Voter Registration Drive on Monday, October 3rd in the 4th floor lobby from Noon until 1 p.m. This event is presented in collaboration with DCC librarian, Mary Timmons (DCC Learning Commons), who has created a library display to promote awareness about the history of voting rights.
This semester-long focus on voting activism will culminate in a "Rock the Vote" celebration on Monday, November 7th during College Hour which will feature local Black politicians who will encourage the student body to vote. Confirmed guests include RCSD Board of Education President Van White; candidate for Monroe County Court Judge, Melissa Barrett; and Monroe County Legislators LaShay Harris, James Sheppard (former RPD Chief), and Ernest Flagler-Mitchell, among others.
We hope to encourage a significant turnout at the polls this election day.
