Hajer Enaami
Veronica: Where are you from?
Hajer: I’m from Libya, and I currently live in Rochester, New York.
Veronica: What is your major?
Hajer: I’m majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
Veronica: Who inspires you and why?
Hajer: My dad and my uncle both inspire me deeply. My dad is an engineer, and he’s always encouraged me to think critically and pursue a career that blends innovation with purpose. My uncle is a surgeon, and seeing his dedication to helping others through medicine made me passionate about health care and biomedical engineering. Their hard work, passion, and commitment to making a difference have shaped the goals I’m pursuing today.
Veronica: What are your plans after graduation?
Hajer: After graduation, I plan to transfer to a four-year university to continue my studies in biomedical engineering. I’m especially interested in prosthetics and assistive technology and hope to contribute to innovations that improve people’s quality of life.
Veronica: What was your favorite memory from your time at MCC?
Hajer: One of my favorite memories was serving as the president of the Muslim Student Association and also the Secretary of Student Government. It gave me the opportunity to create a welcoming space for students, foster interfaith collaborations, and celebrate diversity on campus. That experience helped me grow as a leader and connect with so many amazing people.
Veronica: Why would you recommend MCC to other students?
Hajer: MCC provides a strong academic foundation, supportive faculty, and countless opportunities to get involved. Whether you're just starting out or finding your path, it’s a place where you can grow both personally and academically.
Veronica: What advice would you give to prospective students you wish someone would have given to you?
Hajer: Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek help. It’s okay to feel unsure sometimes, especially if you're adjusting to a new environment. Get involved in clubs or events—it’s one of the best ways to find community and discover what you’re passionate about.
