The Monroe Community College Foundation, in partnership with the Ibero-American Action League, Inc., has established a new scholarship to support academically promising Hispanic students who plan to enroll full-time at Monroe Community College.
The Ibero-American Action League Scholarship, funded by unrestricted donations to the Monroe Community College Foundation’s annual fund, will provide two $1,000 scholarships ($500 per semester) to students who earn a high school diploma (or equivalent), achieve high academic standards (minimum high school grade point average of 3.0) and provide a personal essay, two letters of recommendation and SAT scores.
This year’s scholarship winners will be selected from a current pool of applications. Students who receive the scholarship must maintain full-time status at MCC and a 3.0 grade point average.
Applications for 2009 will be distributed directly by the Ibero-American Action League to high schools (private and public) in Monroe County in the fall. Call 585.256.8900 for more information.
