New EMERGE-MICRO Transfer Program with Stipend Info Session
Dear Students,
I highly encourage you to attend this EMERGE-MICRO transfer program information session and recruiting event to learn about an exciting new opportunity for MCC students. The information session will be held on Monday, February 10th at Noon in 8-100.
The EMERGE-MICRO Program allows you to transfer directly to RIT’s Microelectronic Engineering Bachelor of Science degree program and embark on a rewarding career in the thriving semiconductor industry. Students enrolled at MCC/RIT will receive a financial stipend of $5,000 per semester at MCC, and $10,000 per semester at RIT. These stipends are in addition to any financial aid, award, scholarships, or external support that students may have already obtained. Furthermore, participants may be granted an additional $5,000 for summer research at RIT. The program focuses on experiential learning in hands-on lab environments and offers research opportunities in nanotechnology and chip manufacturing. Participants will gain real-world experience through one-year integrated paid co-op placements in the industry, which often result in job offers before graduation. Students will benefit from extensive support services, including tutoring, one-on-one mentorship, professional development, conferences, and industry site visits.
MCC faculty, RIT faculty, and professionals from GlobalFoundries and Micron will lead this info session and describe how you can join the semiconductor community and take advantage of this rewarding opportunity.
Please RSVP to Debra Ake (dake@monroecc.edu); (585)-292-2480 no later than Friday, February 7 at noon.
Free pizza, complimentary drink and gift will be provided at the meeting.
